To create more capacity for solar power generation in the state, Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) has floated a tender for the purchase of 500MW of solar power through competitive bidding. The solar power will be procured from grid-connected solar photovoltaic power projects to be set up in the state.
State-owned thermal power major Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) will focus only on solar projects to add capacity, a top official said.
