Dear <<First Name>> <<Last Name>>,

> the Peace Shop is re-opening tomorrow!

We've carried out extensive preparations, including carrying out a COVID risk assessment and are now able to re-open as COVID-secure premises. Our volunteers have been briefed and provided with PPE to protect their health and minimise transmission risk.

To comply with the law, and to safeguard the health of our volunteers and customers, we're asking you to follow some simple guidelines. When you come into the shop:
  • please wear a face covering (if you're medically exempt, please let us know when you arrive);
  • please use the hand sanitiser we've provided;
  • please pay by card wherever possible (we've got a card machine now!)
Due to the small size of our shop, we can only allow ONE customer in at a time.
If you're shopping with small children, they can come in with you though.

> WE DESPERATELY NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS !!

In order to keep the Peace Shop open, we really need more volunteers to come forward. At the moment we've only got a core team of three or four regulars - ideally we would have as many as ten.

We've always tried to keep the shop open between 11am and 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday, which works out as ten 3-hour shifts to cover. PLEASE - if you're able to spare just a few hours to help out, do get in touch. It doesn't have to be the same shift each week - we can be really flexible but we do need more help.

We've had a city centre presence for 40 years - please help us to keep going. It's more important than ever to have our literal shop window where people can learn about our campaign to rid the world of nuclear weapons.

There is an increased range of new products for sale, as well as the old favourites. Please pop in and have a look. We've got t-shirts, badges, greetings cards & postcards, Palestinian olive oil, unusual toys, and a wide selection of fairly-traded gifts (you can see some of these in the image below) - incense sticks and ash catchers; earrings, necklaces, bracelets and bangles; wallets; candles; Exeter CND mugs, bags and water bottles; and of course our hugely-popular Jeremy Corbyn dolls. We've even got washable fair-trade face coverings in a bright rainbow design for just a fiver.
