Linday Pattison, MSII
Hey everyone, my name is Lindsay and I love to bake (check out my new rolling pin, thanks to a good friend), spend time with friends (even ones with damaged and repaired wrists), and exercise (catch me biking around the South Bronx taking in the street art)!

Thanks! Sending all my love!

Lindsay Pattison, MSII
Miguel Rodriguez, MSIV
Miguel is the recent winner of a Family Medicine writing contest entitled This We Believe for a poem he composed entitled Family Medicine is Life.

Congratulations, Miguel!
Destiney Kirby, MSII

The past few months at the Bronx Abortion Clinic have been incredibly rewarding and exhausting. The number of protestors and the severity at which they are affecting the clinic patients has steadily increased. Thankfully, I have been able to recruit and train a large number of awesome Einstein volunteers to help out with the efforts.

I am so appreciative of all of my classmates!

KRISTIN JANELLE WILLIAMS, MSIV

SNMA Region IX Director

Kristin is coming to the end of her term as the 2019-2021 Region IX Director for chapters in New York and New Jersey. She recently moderated the SNMA Sowing Seeds Specialty Series: Transplant Medicine episode, which can be found on Facebook and YouTube. Elections for the new Region IX executive board will be held in January 2021.

Downstate Student Representative to the New York State Academy of Family Physicians

This May, Kristin was elected as the 2020-21 Downstate Student Representative to the New York State Academy of Family Physicians (NYSAFP) Board of Directors. She represents medical students interested in family medicine and Family Medicine Interest Groups (FMIG) in NYC and Long Island. Kristin is applying into Family Medicine residency programs this fall and intends to focus her career on primary care, social medicine, women’s health, public health, and health disparities.

ScrubCaps for a Cause - Fauci Scholar

Kristin was awarded a scholarship from ScrubCaps for a Cause, which is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting women in medicine and surgery. She received a special distinction as a “Fauci Scholar”, which was awarded to three NYC women medical students who continued their medical education and helped take care of patients while NYC was the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic. Kristin organized a primary care outreach call effort to support high risk patients at a variety of Montefiore/Einstein affiliated family practice clinics during the height of the COVID-19 crisis when many patients were left without appropriate follow up care. She received a congratulatory letter from Dr. Anthony Fauci in honor of this distinction.

Engagement

On June 26, 2020, Kristin got engaged to her now fiancé, Rushshane C. Brown, via Zoom. They are currently planning for their wedding on June 6, 2021 (God's willing), which will be socially distanced and livestreamed.

We congratulate Kristin on her multiple accomplishments!
