Tuesday night's presidential debate was an exercise in national self-flagellation.
There was a time when political candidates at least presented themselves in dignified, honorable ways and treated opponents with respect. Tuesday evening, the president of the United States tried to bully his way through a debate, instead.
No one will win if we hold more debates. There will only be further loss of our national soul....
