Spirit Elephant Featured on ABC 7's "The Hungry Hound"Spirit Elephant is reviewed by food critic Steve Dolinsky
Spirit Elephant, 924 Green Bay Road, was reviewed by Steve Dolinsky, ABC 7's food critic on his "The Hungry Hound" segment on September 27. Dolinsky notes Spirit Elephant "has put together a creative menu with several delicious options, and you'll never miss the meat." Congratulations, Spirit Elephant!

Sidewalk Installations, Artist Meet-and-Greet Kick Off "Art Attack!" This Weekend  Chalk sidewalk art is installed in Hubbard Woods for Art Attack
Hubbard Woods sidewalks burst with green, purple, blue and orange sidewalk art that marks the beginning of "Art Attack!" An artist “Meet and Greet” will take place on Friday, October 2, from 3 PM - 6:30 PM. Art Attack! is hosted by the Hubbard Woods Design and Dine District in partnership with the North Shore Art League and sponsored by the Village of Winnetka. We are excited to announce that ten new businesses will open in Winnetka in the near future:

Hubbard Woods
Casa Spazio, 886 Green Bay Road
Modern Italian furniture store will expand from their River North Design District location. Coming fall 2020.

Pedego Electric Bicycles, 894 Green Bay Road
Electric bicycle dealer will offer e-bikes for rent and for sale. Coming fall 2020.

Munder Skiles, 913 Green Bay Road
Handmade exterior furniture store will open their first Midwest location. Coming fall 2020.

Towne and Oak, 921 Green Bay Road
All-day café and private event space run by chef and caterer Elaina Vazquez. Coming fall 2020.

Guanajuato Mexican Restaurant & Tequila Bar, 1003 Green Bay Road
Family-owned Mexican restaurant and bar will relocate to Winnetka. Coming fall 2020.

East Elm
Hometown Coffee & Juice, 754-59 Elm Street
Restaurant offering coffee, juice, salads, and sandwiches will open their second location. Coming spring 2021.

Tacos and Tequila Cantina, 540 Lincoln Avenue
Naples, FL-based Mexican restaurant will open their first Midwest location. Coming spring 2021.

Delos Therapy, 547 Lincoln Avenue
Pain management center will open their first North Shore location. Coming spring 2021.

West Elm
La Taquiza Mexican Restaurant, 566 Chestnut Street
North Shore Mexican restaurant will open their third location in the Laundry Mall. Coming fall 2020.

Perspective Eyes, 548 Chestnut Street
Optometrist Dr. Daisy Mendez will open a medical office with retail in West Elm. Coming fall 2020.
 
Cook County $10,000 Business Grant Program Open until October 6Cook County opened the Community Recovery Initiative to offer relief to small businesses as a result of COVID-19
Applications are open now for Cook County's "COVID-19 Recovery: Small Business Assistance" grants that provide support for suburban Cook County small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Grant funds can be used for payroll, operating expenses, lease or rent payments, and more. Applications close on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 5 PM (subject to change). For additional eligibility and grant rules, visit the Cook County COVID-19 Recovery: Small Business Assistance website. 
If Your Business Paid Municipal Sales Taxes In 2019, You Might Be Eligible For A Rebate!
Do you own a brick-and-mortar store in Winnetka? Did your business generate municipal sales tax eligible revenue under $4.0 million in 2019? Then you might be eligible for an immediate rebate or either $2,500, $5,000 or $10,000! Visit the Village's website to learn more, review the requirements of the rebate program, and download an application. Please email the Village with additional questions or comments. The deadline to apply is December 1, 2020.
Applications Open For Business Grants from State of ILIL Governor J. B. Pritzker
The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity is now accepting applications for their Business Interruption Grants (BIG). Grants of either $10,000 or $20,000 are given on a rolling basis. BIG funding may be used for working capital expenses, payroll costs, rent and more. Visit the State of Illinois' website to learn more and apply for the grant.
IL Department of Labor Launches Free Business COVID-19 Safety Consulting Program 
The Illinois Department of Labor is launching "Back to Business Illinois," a free consulting program to help small businesses with their workplace safety and physical operation best practices. Online sessions are offered to share COVID-19 safety guidelines. Visit the program on the IL Department of Labor's website to sign up for counseling and. online sessions.

Sign up for Winnetka's new text loyalty program, "Distinctly Winnetka" to learn about events, special business promotions and events in the Village! This Village-sponsored program is free for residents and participating businesses.

The Winnetka-Northfield Chamber of Commerce hosts the market every Saturday from 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM. The market is sponsored by the Village of Winnetka.
