The Association of Translation Companies (ATC) chooses Assent to Support Industry ISO Certification Scheme

The Association of Translation Companies (ATC), a trade body representing organisations in the language services industry, has selected Assent Risk Management to develop its ISO Certification Service.

The service was established by the ATC in 2017 to provide impartial, trustworthy certification to standards aimed at language service companies, including ISO 17100 for Translation Services and ISO 18587 for Machine translation Post-editing.

The ATC is perfectly placed to provide in-depth knowledge and experience of these specialist language industry standards, and to add value for certified clients.

I think we can all agree that more needs to be done to protect our planet for future generations. Governments around the world are just beginning to take the issue seriously and legislate to influence behavioural change.

Sustainability is in the Choices we make as Individuals & Organisations.  

We work with many responsible clients who have opted to do more to protect the environment through standards such as ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 50001 (Energy Management) & ISO 14064 (Carbon Footprint).

The Ladbroke Grove Rail Crash 1999– The big one waiting to happen

Welcome to our blog series looking at the causes and consequences of well known disasters. This blog looks at the Ladbroke Grove Rail Crash, on the Great Western Main line, which is also known as the Paddington Rail Crash of 5th October 1999 which resulted in 31 people killed and 417 injured.  

The Incident

At about 8.06 am a Thames Trains service to Bedwyn railway station in Wiltshire left Paddington Station.
