Finalists Named for 35th Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton Business Excellence Awards
The finalists for the 2020 Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton Business Excellence Awards have been unveiled – and they represent an impressive assortment of business talent from across Greater Moncton.
The 35th annual Greater Moncton Business Excellence Awards will be a virtual gala this year honouring the resiliency of the region’s business community. The event will take place Oct.22, 2020 over Zoom and will incorporate both filmed and live parts.
“The Greater Moncton business community is one of the most vibrant and dynamic in the province. And, this year, we can also say that we have one of the most resilient business communities in the country,” said Chamber CEO John Wishart. “It has been a particularly difficult year for businesses because of COVID-19 and this makes it even more important that we celebrate the achievements and resiliency of the community.”
The list of finalists – chosen by an independent panel of five judges – was released today virtually by the Chamber.
”Once again, despite the pressures of the pandemic, entrepreneurs and business owners of our region responded with tremendous participation in the nomination process,” mentioned Wishart.

The Greater Moncton Business Excellence Awards will also present an award in the Healthy Workplace category and in the Inclusive Hiring category.
Another award, the People’s Choice Award, will be awarded to the business from the tri-community area that the public feels is most deserving. Online voting opens today at the Chamber’s website and all companies and organizations nominated for a 2020 award are eligible for the People's Choice. Online voting will close at noon on Oct. 16.
The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton will also introduce a new award this year recognizing the Business Person of the Year. This award will be determined by the Chamber’s Board of Directors and will celebrate an individual who is a true community leader.
“This new award will recognize a business person who has shown not only leadership, but vision and a sense of giving back to the community”, said Wishart.
Presenting sponsor this year is RBC Wealth Management with individual award categories sponsored by Assumption Life, BDC, Brainworks, CPA New Brunswick, Liberty Utilities, NBCC, Opportunities New Brunswick, Scotiabank, and Wilson Insurance. Medavie Blue Cross will also sponsor the Milestone Club created in 2018 to recognize members for their long-term success and commitment to the Chamber. Four long-standing companies will join the Milestone Club at this year’s awards.
The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton can also count on the partnership of Commercial Properties Ltd and the municipalities of Moncton, Dieppe and Riverview.

Les finalistes sont connus pour la 35e édition des Prix d’excellence en affaires de la CCGM
Les finalistes des Prix d'excellence en affaires de la Chambre de commerce pour le Grand Moncton 2020 ont été dévoilés - et ils représentent un assortiment impressionnant de tous les secteurs du monde des affaires du Grand Moncton.
La 35e édition des Prix d’excellence en affaires du Grand Moncton sera un gala virtuel cette année honorant la résilience du milieu des affaires de la région. L'événement aura lieu le 22 octobre 2020 sur Zoom et comprendra des parties filmées et d’autres en direct.
«Le milieu des affaires du Grand Moncton est l'un des plus dynamiques de la province. Et, cette année, nous pouvons également dire que nous avons l'une des communautés d'affaires les plus résilientes au pays, a déclaré le PDG de la Chambre, John Wishart. Cette année est particulièrement difficile pour les entreprises en raison de la COVID-19 et il est donc encore plus important de célébrer les réalisations et la résilience de notre communauté. »
La liste des finalistes - choisie par un panel indépendant de cinq juges - a été rendue publique virtuellement aujourd'hui par la Chambre.
«Une fois de plus, malgré les pressions engendrées par la pandémie, les entrepreneurs et les propriétaires d'entreprises de notre région ont répondu avec une énorme participation au processus de nomination », a mentionné M. Wishart.

Les Prix d’excellence en affaires du Grand Moncton remettront aussi un prix dans les catégories Milieu de travail sain et Embaucheur inclusif.
Un autre prix, le Choix du public, sera décerné à l'entreprise de la région des trois communautés que le public juge la plus méritante. Le vote en ligne s'ouvre aujourd'hui sur le site Internet de la Chambre et toutes les entreprises et organisations nommées pour un prix 2020 sont éligibles au Choix du public. Le vote en ligne se terminera à midi le 16 octobre.
La Chambre de commerce pour le Grand Moncton lance également cette année un nouveau prix récompensant la Personnalité d'affaires de l'année. Ce prix sera déterminé par le conseil d’administration de la Chambre et rendra hommage à une personne qui fait preuve de leadership dans la communauté.
« Ce nouveau prix récompensera une femme ou un homme d'affaires qui a fait preuve non seulement de leadership, mais aussi qui possède une vision et qui cherche à redonner à la communauté », a déclaré M. Wishart.
Cette année, le commanditaire principal est RBC Gestion de patrimoine, en plus des catégories de prix parrainées par Assomption Vie, BDC, Brainworks, CPA Nouveau-Brunswick, Liberty Utilities, NBCC, Opportunités Nouveau-Brunswick, la Banque Scotia et Wilson Insurance. Croix Bleue Medavie commanditera également le Club de la réussite créé en 2018 pour reconnaître les membres pour leur succès à long terme et leur engagement envers la Chambre. Quatre entreprises de longue date rejoindront le Club de la réussite lors de l’événement de cette année.
La Chambre de commerce pour le Grand Moncton peut également compter sur le partenariat de Commercial Properties Ltd et des municipalités de Moncton, Dieppe et Riverview.
