ILSR Seeks Senior Policy Advocate

ILSR  |   SEPT. 23, 2020

ILSR is seeking a Senior Policy Advocate to join our Independent Business team focused on winning public policy changes to check the economic and political power of monopolies, level the playing field for small independent businesses, build thriving communities, and create an equitable, racially just democracy.

In this position you will play a pivotal role in the team’s work with its coalition partners to break up Amazon and other tech giants; enact change in antitrust, banking, and other policies to reverse corporate concentration; and expand the collective power of working people and small businesses.

This position is full-time and includes benefits. It can be remote, but we’d prefer a candidate in or near Washington, D.C.  Applications for this position will be accepted at least through September 28th and on a rolling basis after that date until the position is filled.

ILSR is deeply committed to equity and inclusion. We’re an equal opportunity employer, and we strongly encourage people of color, people with disabilities, women, non-binary candidates, and LGBTQIA+ candidates to apply. READ MORE AND APPLY HERE.

ICYMI: HILL BRIEFING

ILSR organized and participated in a briefing, cosponsored by more than 40 local and national economic and racial justice, small business, and antimonopoly groups, making the case for Congress to break up and regulate Amazon and the other tech giants. This powerful event featured opening remarks by Congressman David Cicilline, who is leading the House’s antitrust investigation of Big Tech, followed by several notable speakers, including ILSR’s Stacy Mitchell, and a lively Q&A. It garnered an overwhelming response from policymakers and their staff, advocates, and journalists. Cicilline’s committee is expected to release its report and policy recommendations in the coming weeks. Watch the briefing here.
