Postponed
due to COVID concerns in the band.
We'll let you know when this concert is rescheduled.

Josh Cleveland & the Cedar Street Band
Including local upright bassist, Joe Meyer

Josh Cleveland's multi-textured voice delivers stories. Whether those stories come from his original compositions or from reinterpreted covers, they are told in a new way. He asks, "What songs seem to stick with you?" Then answers his own question, "There are lots of reasons that they do. Sometimes it’s the lyrics, the instrumentation, the memories they conjure. Other times it’s the context that we attach to them. I think it’s the latter that can give these songs new life at any given moment."

These innovative and dynamic arrangements are executed expertly and from-the-gut by The Cedar Street Band.

The band at this show is, Joe Meyer- Bass (not him in the photo), Dustin Smith- guitars, mandolin, dobro, Eric Smith- drums, and Josh Cleveland- guitar, vocals.

"There’s something to be recognized when you see Minnesota artists working full-time jobs, playing 2-hour gigs, and putting every effort into perfecting their music. It’s the root of working musicians and what we all should be supporting in our communities. Grizzled veterans Josh Cleveland & The Cedar Street Band continues to find ways to broaden their audience, record new music, and connect heart to heart, beat for beat. It’s this spirit and goal that everyone can attach to, no matter our profession." -- Tom Smouse

As you know, we used Brown Paper Tickets to get tickets to you last season. We have a couple of questions to ask you regarding refunds.

Due to COVID our final 10 shows of the 2019-20 season were canceled. Seven of these had tickets sold at the time of cancellation. Our understanding is that Brown Paper Tickets offered all 100+ of you -- who had purchased tickets to these shows -- the option of a full refund, or to have your ticket money given, at your request, to Granite City Folk Society as a donation.  GCFS did not receive any of these cancellation funds from Brown Paper Tickets.

If any of you, who had bought tickets to these seven canceled shows, could help us out by answering the following two questions, we would be most appreciative.

1.  Most importantly—did you receive a full refund if you asked for it?
2.  If you requested to have your ticket money given to GCFS---please let us know that. And, do you recall the amount?

Thank you.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Special thanks go out to our season sponsors GrandStay Residential Suites, Bo Diddley’s Deli, and CMAB for their generous support.
GrandStay provides first class overnight accommodations for our musician guests.
BoDiddley’s provides food & beverage for our musicians and an intimate setting for 90% of our concerts.
Donations are tax deductible and offer donor recognition & thanks. This is not a profitable enterprise. Our ticket sales typically do not quite cover musician compensation, much less printing, advertising, theater rental, insurance, etc., etc. We have in recent years been fortunate to receive modest grants to help defray expenses, we have received in-kind donations from our season sponsors, and we have also enjoyed increasing support from patrons such as yourself. Collectively, these are the pieces of the financial puzzle that keep our boat afloat. Please consider a donation. Any amount is greatly appreciated and is tax deductible (minus voucher value).
