Dress Red for Dress Red Day

Dress Red Day is coming on 29 September. The Dutch Heart Foundation asks everyone to dress in red attire in order to draw attention to cardiovascular disease in women. Although we can't come together this year, Amsterdam UMC would like to participate digitally.

Share your Dress Red Day outfit on social media (instagram or twitter) using #amsterdamumckleurtrood and Amsterdam UMC will make a compilation of your submissions! Posts can already be submitted regardless of gender! Make sure to keep 1.5 meter distance! If you don't have instagram or twitter, you can mail your photo to e.bets@amsterdamumc.nl.

It's about time that diseases with a higher incidence in females will be diagnosed and treated with a specialized approach. Therefore, the Dutch Heart Foundation will invest €2.5m in a large research program focussed on diagnosing and treating cardiovascular disease in females ». Yolande Appelman, intervention cardiologist at Amsterdam UMC, has been working hard for the women's heart. She will be leading part of this research program.

New SOP Reuse of care data and SOP Research data management

On 16 September 2020, the Board of Directors established two Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) on 'Reuse of care data for the purpose of research' »  as well as 'Research data management' »

The careful use of care data for scientific research within legal framework is important and therefore these harmonized procedures have been developed for both location AMC and VUmc. All scientific research with care data already collected within Amsterdam UMC have to comply with the procedures and endpoints in the SOP Reuse of care data for the purpose of research. Datamanagement of human scientific research needs to comply with the SOP Research data management. These SOPs are also available on our website »

29-30 SEPT                  BCF Career Event
Date: 29 & 30 September 2020

BCF Career Event will take place on 30 September in Utrecht as planned. We are following the latest governmental measures and have therefore introduced time shifts for everyone to get a chance to visit the event in-person while ensuring the amount of people present at the same time remains limited. Each registrant can chose the timeslot during which they want to attend the event and we encourage everyone to register asap as the amount of tickets per slot are limited.

On 29 September BCF Career will also take place online. For anyone that doesn’t feel comfortable travelling or attending in-person, but also to accommodate our exhibitors’ internal policies that sometimes prevent them from attending events, we have decided to add an online day to the event. The insightful programme will also take place on this day. Note that participating companies differ from one day to the other.
