How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be
called children of God! And that is what we are!

—1 John 3:1

Have you ever noticed? The only place in the NIV translation of 1 John we see an exclamation point is 1 John 3:1. Of all the important truths in John’s letter, there’s something clearly foundational, clearly in the "don’t-miss-this!" category here. It seems urgent to John that we grasp the significance of God's incredible love for us: He calls us his children and interacts with us as a good Father. What a wonderful thought to ponder!

God loves it when we, recognizing that he is our Father and we’re his children, turn to him and ask him for help ... even in times when we should have done it sooner.

Like every mission, JAARS depends upon God and we pray daily for the people we are trying to reach, for our partners around the world, and for the effectiveness of our own work. It’s encouraging to see in the stories below how the Lord is working through JAARS and our partners to advance his kingdom in remote and difficult places around the world.

A dream job come true!
Proverbs 16:9 (ESV) says: “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” In his wildest dreams, Sahil* had never imagined he would be part of this ministry: doing what he loves for God’s glory. But the Lord knew. Read more about how God met the need for staffing a recording studio. *Name changed for security reasons.

Mountain Week, COVID-style
It’s not every day that Nathan Hicker gets to sleep in a hammock strung across the walls of a hangar. Nathan, the JAARS Aviation Training Fellow, enjoyed these unique sleeping accommodations when he joined the Pre-Field orientees at the culminating event of their three-month training: Mountain Week. Read how Nathan's experience "blew him away!"

The Dreamers vs the Schemers
As a kid, what did you dream of becoming? Any dreams turn into reality? What do you now dream about doing or becoming? Do your dreams function as a healthy life review, or as more wishful thinking? Check out Part One of our devotional series on the life of Joseph.
Isn’t it great to be reminded of God’s great love for us? Remember that he is ready for us to call on him and to ask for the help we need when facing challenges. At JAARS, we have many challenges to overcome in making Bible translation possible, especially in the most remote and difficult places. But we know we can call on the Lord. And so can you.
If you or someone you care about is facing difficulties that we can pray about, our team would love to do that. Just send your prayer requests to info@jaars.org, or call 1.888.773.1178.
