Game Management Courses


RHBL Game management courses are available for any aspiring umpires or experienced umpires needing a refresher.

The RHBL Game Management course are available for registration.

These course are open to everyone from every club in the RHBL. Thank you to Greenway, Stealers, Boomers and Comets for hosting.
  
Game Management Course will be run this season over 4 sessions over the weekend of the 17th and 18th October 2020.
Saturday October 17th 9am to 11am Greenway Park, Cherrybrook
Saturday October 17th 1pm to 3pm Golden Jubilee Park, Wahroonga
Sunday October 18th 9am to 11am Glover St, Rozelle
Sunday October 18th 1pm to 3pm Majors Bat Park, Concord

Bookings are now open and are limited to 20 attendees due to Covid requirements.
These 2 hours course will give basic instruction on how to manage T-Ball, Zooka and Rookie Live games with the RHBL.
Our Internationally experienced Umpires will walk you through the steps of game management including
  • plate meetings
  • positioning
  • signals and verbal notification
  • RHBL specific rules to each grade
  • General Rules of Baseball
At each course, you will be able to order an RHBL Shirt and Hat ($30) to ensure everyone knows you are accredited to run RHBL games.

Pre - Course Requirements
Please complete the online Australian Sports Commission Officiating General Principles course. This is a mandatory component of the Game Management Course.

You will need to register on this site, then complete the Officiating General Principles Course and bring the printed certificate (or a photo of the certificate) with you.
This year we are encouraging our umpire to complete the USA Baseball FREE online Umpire Certification program.
Preparing for Competition, Communicating Effectively, and Managing Games
Hosted by former Major League umpire, Dale Scott, the Introduction to Umpiring course provides umpires with a working knowledge of basic procedures and standards within the game. This course includes topics such as preparing for games, communicating effectively, and the mechanics used during competitions.

You will need to sign up to the site. This is free and offers a host of other interesting and beneficial information for baseball.  USA Baseball is the also part of the system that Baseball Australia is using for Coaching Certification.

Shake Off the Cobwebs and Division 1 Trials

Shake Off the Cobwebs is the club's pre-season training for all under 12 to under 16 new and returning players. Registration is essential for this event. Please use the link below.

If your child is interested in playing in one of our Friday night Division 1 competition teams please register via the link below for our FREE Shake Off The Cobwebs pre-season training and Div1 Trials. We have Div1 teams in U12, U14 and U16 age groups.

Please note that registration for this event is essential and attendance at the trials on 10th, 17th and 24th September is mandatory to be eligible for selection into a Div1 team.
