A NOTE TO THE READER.
For me, music and lyrics are the things that constantly swim through my mind. My wife Paige has gotten quite the kick during this pandemic at seeing it first hand. I will at random times sing snippets of songs that come from nowhere. As this goes for all the great hits, so it goes for hymns and worship. The song seems to be planted deep within my heart, and at the moment that God intends, they come rising up and wash over me. Charles Spurgeon would often emphasize a sermon by speaking lyrical truth from a hymn or song. There is a great beauty in the mental and emotional depth that a song can bring us. It can go beyond the truth that the lyrics bring and add layers of feelings and memories.
As we strive to seek God during this season, mediate through music and feel its impact. Sit within a feeling that the words stir up, reflect on the memories that are there. Pray, breathe, and enjoy the beauty that God has given us through musical worship and lyrical poetry.

Smeared with oil like David’s boy, oh lei-oh lai-oh Lord.”
