Cirque Boutique presents artist Nadine O'Brien and Coquelicot Pastries by Clemie, 232 Grand Ave

Nadine O’Brien is an active printmaker, sculptor and multimedia artist. She was born and raised in Colorado and lives in Paonia with her husband and two children. Artist statement: There is a spiritual essence that permeates all of existence. My work reflects the relationship between the physical and non-physical world. By celebrating the unique unfolding of this relationship and expressing my own personal experience to the spiritual realm, I find a symbiotic relationship between the two worlds. The materials I use to create my work represent the physical element, the process by which I create the work represents the spiritual. The results are my attempt to merge the two worlds and show that they are one and the same.

Clementine Bouton was raised in a small village in Northern France called Le Touquet, where pastries hold the memory of an "after school snack" & gatherings on Sunday's.  Her parents owned & operated a restaurant for over 40 years where she first learned to roll dough with her father.  "Food is a way to connect our hearts together.  The kitchen is a place that floods all of the senses by the texture of ingredients, the smell, the visual beauty and the taste. Fruits should taste like fruits not like sugar, and under sweetening pastry allows the taste of the ingredients to truly shine."  Clemie also offers a mouth-watering selection of gluten free pastries in addition to traditional favorites like cheesecake, tarts, Charlotte cake and eclairs. Coquelicot (ko-klee-ko) will be sharing her culinary art on Final Fridays @ The Cirque thru the fall.
