From 2003 to 2011 I attended every Loft Party in NYC
Since the start I'd go to the day long set up the day before
and then hang out after the party to break the thing down
Parties were three or four times a year
You can imagine how strong and special the bonds
within the "set up" crew would become
It's a gifted family, simply said
Today I read an inbox message from Saturday
One of the crew dudes wrote to
say he's got a new record out this week
Then later an message pops in from the supplier
"Now shipping"
See if ya want any

I've known Danny Krivit since about the same time I started at the Loft
Makes sense as I spent more time in NYC
Interestingly though, I really got to know him when he was invited
to play a party for my friends in San Diego
Picked him up at LAX and off we go building the
comradery for several hours on the drive and after
This is funny...
one of the Japanese party crew in SD is an acclaimed sushi chef
Some of you know who I'm talking about
He was with us on this drive
He organized a dinner at his restaurant for the pregame meal
and of course to give DK an insane experience
When it's time to order DK says,
"You think I can just get a hamburger?
Exotic food before the party is too risky."
It was a crack up for me because of the scene
laughing right now even
The point was not lost on me though
It was an impressive demonstration of self-realization
"We're safe with a burger..." LOL
Could you imagine his sense of duty and degree of commitment
playing records for the party members turning down a world class meal?
* * *
Anyway, arguably the most historic dance party edits of all time
Love Is The Message
See what it's like even if you know it
There's bound to be something different about it
