New Australian Jesuit Provincial

Every six years Jesuit Provinces appoint a new Provincial. Fr Brian McCoy SJ completes his term this year. On 4 September Fr General, Arturo Sosa SJ, appointed Fr Quyen Vu SJ as the next Provincial of the Australian Province. Fr Quyen will assume this new role on January 1, 2021.
Fr Quyen is 51 years of age. He entered the Australian Province of the Jesuits in 1994 and was ordained in Sydney in 2004. Since 2015 he has worked in Cambodia and is currently Rector of Xavier Jesuit School, in Sisophon. He previously served as Rector of Colegio de San Inácio de Loyola in Timor Leste. He has also taught at St Aloysius’ College, Kirribilli and Loyola Senior High School, Mt Druitt in Sydney.
We are pleased to hear of Fr Quyen’s appointment and pray for him as he prepares to leave his mission in Cambodia and begin this new challenge in Australia. You may be interested in hearing more from Fr Quyen in this recent Cuppa with a Jesuit YouTube video.

Hi everyone,
Just a quick update on the coming and goings of the College's Advancement Office. Marketing Communications Coordinator, Jessica Mazzone (Class of 2005) is on maternity leave and is about to welcome her second baby into the Mazzone/Terminello family. We wish her, Nic and Lily all the best for their new arrival. During her leave, Philippa Ball will be assuming her role, as she has been working beside Jess for over 2 years now.
After almost 9 years as the Alumni Relations Officer, I will be stepping into Philippa's Marketing Communications role for the next 12 months. This will give me a fantastic opportunity to broaden and build on my current skill set. We are currently looking for a replacement Alumni Officer to join the team along with Advancement Manager Belinda Mears, College Registrar Monica Klingberg and Advancement Officer Carmel Rechichi.
To all the community, I am still available by phone, email and social media and look forward to an exciting year ahead, full of growth and learning. I will miss the Old Ignatians' Association and Reunions very much but will be back before you know it.
