Important Information about the future of KPS
Exciting new times ahead. After trialing VP we are formally kicking off with our new on-line system from 1 October.
Explore and enjoy it. We will help you.
Due to restrictions imposed on us with Covid and costs associated with Visual Pursuits we will need to look at increasing fees in the future, probably next year. You will see some changes in VP about Competing and Non Competing Members. This is because there is an additional cost in the way VP charges for online competitions.
Please click here for more information..

Coming Up

Wed 7th October Committee meeting

Wed 14th October Online with guest speaker Len Metcalf

Meeting last Wed Image Evaluation.

Thanks to the 40+ members that came along to enjoy all the images and Mario’s comments.

It is great to see all the images and also to see your happy faces in these times. We all miss the cup of coffee and chat at the end but that will eventually change. Congratulations to the members that got an award especially David and Rhonda. Also logging in last night was Shirley and Tony West in the UK. Tony was one of the pioneers of KPS and was treasurer in 1986,7 and 8.

Note: at anytime during the meeting if you do a chat to everyone, everyone can see it INCLUDING the JUDGE.

Image Evaluations - Important.
You can enter your images into the November Image Evaluation NOW, just log into VP,
here.

Note:
The November Image Evaluation “Unrestricted”:

ALL images shown using our Visual Pursuits software will have the title of the image and the maker of the image displayed.

The maker of the image
will not be seen by the judge until the presentation night.
The judge is instructed to only give a constructive critique, no scoring other than a few commendeds at the end. This is a trial process.

Syllabus 2021

The syllabus sub - committee made up of more than a dozen KPS members have started to meet and put the 2021 syllabus together.
Absolutely looking on the bright side of the Covid19. Anyone can contribute ideas, but they need to have them sooner rather than later. Once we start to lock in room hire, speakers, judges, outings etc it is very difficult to change.

If you have any ideas that you think could / should be considered email them to me and I will pass them onto the sub committee. (Rob
msec@optusnet.com.au). ASAP
Note: Outings like Castlemaine and Sea Lake held over from 2020 will probably need to run in 2021. They will be taking into account your responses in the club survey.

The book is now being shipped so if you are one of the hundreds of people who pre-ordered, expect to receive your copy soon (Australia Post permitting).

Everyone involved in this project is excited to see the finished product.
We know the pictures are great, the words are wonderful and the fantastic design will combine with a superb print quality from an award winning Victorian printer, Adams Print, to make an exceptional book.
No cheap printing offshore for this book, it is an all Victorian affair and we need to support local business' in these trying times.
The Mallee A journey through north-west Victoria can be ordered online now from Ten Bag Press.
This will make a great Christmas present!

A reminder from Fiona that the Canon Store is closing permanently. No idea if their prices are competitive.
Andrew F passed on the news that DigiDirect have a 20% off sale at the moment.
As always, check around for the best price rather than relying on the retailer to do the right thing by you.

Would you like to have greater skills when evaluating images?
Time is running out!

If you would like to take part in any of these you may be eligible for a KPS subsidy.
