ESTEEM Awards 2020 


We continue to recieve nominations of people and teams who are involved with social prescribing and are making a real difference.  This month we recognise  three outstanding examples of how social prescribing colleagues have risen to the COVID challenge in Staffordshire, Tower Hamlets and Richmond upon Thames. Staffordshire Sustainability and Transformation Partnership, Stoke-on-Trent CCG


Ron Daley, programme manager and the digital inclusion team, Staffordshire Sustainability and Transformation Partnership, Stoke-on-Trent CCG   created an animation to explain social prescribing. This was loaded on the public Facebook pages of 116 of the 151 practices across Staffordshire, giving an opportunity for around 900,000 registered patients to learn more about what social prescribing.  You can view the animation here.

Tower Hamlets GP Care Group


Sahdia Warraich, line manager, and the Tower Hamlets social prescribing team have worked so hard during the Covid-19 pandemic. Not only did they continue to work within their practices but they also took on the new role in helping shielding patients that needed urgent food deliveries, and support with shopping, bereavement, isolation, loneliness, and depression. This nomination is to recognise their sheer hard work, commitment, and dedication and make them feel that everything they are doing is appreciated.
 

Ruils Social Prescribing Team

Narinder Dosanjh, Social Prescribing Manager and the Ruils Social Prescribing Team set up an emergency Covid -19 remote response, working in conjunction with the six PCNs in Richmond Upon Thames Borough. With approximately 600 clients, they had an additional three link workers in March and six in July making 15 link workers in total, including three leads. They met voluntary sector and statutory bodies online each Wednesday to raise awareness about what social prescribing does.
