Thoughts and Prayer
And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good."

St. Luke's Family,

This is the final week in which the church highlights the Season of Creation. We are called to Renewing, Repairing and Restoring our commitments to God, to one another, and to all of creation. This coming Sunday we'll celebrate this with a Blessing of the Animals at 4 p.m. here on the church lawn. We've invited the community and, in particular, we've invited Greater St. Paul's African Methodist Episcopal Church to join us. I look forward to Sunday's cacophony of barks, meows, neighs, and any other singing our animal friends offer.

Please come and join in the fun, whether you have a pet to get blessed or not. We'll have popcorn, Sno Cones, and "doggie" bags for the animals.

Yours in love and faith, Polly

Worship

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, * O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.  Psalm 19

Sunday October 4th we celebrate Holy Eucharist together. It may look a little different, with safeguards in place, but it is important for us to care for one another's health.

Rachel Eskite, our seminarian is preaching Sunday!

Our Sunday service is at 10:15 a.m.
The service will be live-streamed as well.

Download the bulletin for this Sunday, October 4 here.

Join us also online Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. for Evening Prayer via our Facebook page. You can find the evening prayer bulletin in the Notes Section of our Facebook page or by clicking here.

The Daily Office
(Morning and Evening Prayer)

Participation in the Daily Office is at the heart of Anglican spirituality. It is the proper form of daily public worship in the church and may be led by either a clergy or lay person.

On Wednesday evenings St. Luke's offers evening prayer live online and we'd love to have lay persons lead the service from your home or at the church if you prefer. The service calls us together to thank God for  the past day, and to pray that "this evening may be holy, good, and peaceful." Sharing these quiet prayers and readings from scripture builds and strengthens  the body of Christ. If you would like to take part in leading Evening Prayer please let Polly know. She will walk you through this wonderful lay ministry opportunity.

JOIN IN ANY SUNDAY! Each class is independent of the others.
Following the Anglican tradition means we seek to interpret scripture reasonably in community. Studying the bible in a holistic and nonliteral way gives us a broader understanding of the writings in the context in which they were written. Join us Sunday morning on Zoom to learn more!

ALMIGHTY AND EVERLASTING GOD, you are always more ready to hear than we to pray, and to give more than we either desire or deserve: Pour upon us the abundance of your mercy, forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid, and giving us those good things for which we are not worthy to ask, except through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ our Savior; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.
