Join Circles Sharpsburg as a Leader or an Ally!
A new online Circles class is beginning in September! Circles is an anti-poverty program that matches low-income Leaders with middle– and upper-income Allies to achieve personal and community goals.
- New Ally Training on Mondays from 6:30-8:00pm, starting September
- New Leader Training on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00pm, starting September 30th

Sermon Planning Retreat

This August, Pastor Scott & Pastor Barry held their first Sermon Planning Retreat together. These retreats include bible study, prayer, brainstorming, and planning for what the Sermon Series will be for the next 6 months. The white board is a helpful tool for writing down all the pastoral needs of the congregation and community, so that we can select topics & scriptures to address these needs. We are excited for the great sermon series coming up this fall, including Unafraid: Living with Courage and Hope in Uncertain Times; The Return of the Prodigal; Making Room at the Table; and Christmas Movies!

Roots of Faith In-Person Worship

This month Roots of Faith celebrated its first in-person worship service after a five-month hiatus due to COVID precautions. Roots of Faith also conducted its first-ever outdoor service at the corner of Main and 8th streets, with 27 people attending. In keeping with church reopening guidelines of the Western Pennsylvania Conference of the UMC, participants wore facemasks and refrained from singing out loud. Pictured is Richard Kneip (far right) receiving a free facemask before the Aug. 23 service.
Richard is one of two 2020 high-school graduates interviewed, presented with a gift, and blessed during a Sunday service. The other graduate is LaTonya Cohen.

Zoom Congregational Town Hall
On Saturday, October 11th from 6:00-7:30pm, the Faith UMC Leadership Board invites you to attend a Zoom Congregational Town Hall event. Roots of Faith Ask Event
On October 14 at 6:30 PM, we will be hosting an "Ask Event" , where you can learn more about Roots of Faith and the many outreach programs that serve our community. Hear about the ways lives are being transformed, how relationships are being formed across race and class, and how you can also be a part of providing love, justice, and hope to those living on the margins. This event is for people to learn more about our organization, the programs that we provide and how they can support what we are doing. We would love for you to attend and invite a friend. Halloween Drive-in Movie
On Friday, October 9, 6:45pm, join us for a drive-in double feature in the church parking lot! We will show two short, family friendly, Halloween-themed films: Room on the Broom and Toy Story of Terror! The event is open to all. To maintain social distance, families will watch the films from their cars. The parking lot will open for cars at 6:45pm, and we will begin the first film at approximately 7:00pm (depending on sunset time). Come in your Halloween costumes, if you choose! (F)

(Relationships Engagement Accountability Laughter). The REAL bible study takes a look at the real women in the Bible and how we can grow in our faith through their biblical experiences. Fox Hill Preschool Substitute Teachers Needed
Fox Hill Preschool is currently looking for substitute teachers. This entails working with 2,3, and 4 yr. old preschool children. The hours vary depending on the class. Qualifications: High School Diploma ,18+. Love for children and understanding of the emotional needs of preschool children.
