EKONE ITEM: Custom Ekone Pine Furniture Piece! Here’s some real Ekone Magic for your home; a custom furniture piece built from Ekone’s blue-stained Ponderosa Pine, milled on site and crafted into an end table, coffee table, bookcase, or linen chest by Ekone’s talented facilities manager, Shawn. The wood was lovingly hand-harvested from Ekone land as part of our fuels-reduction work, using extremely low-impact forestry techniques. The blue pine comes from standing dead trees that were killed by pine bark beetles, and the yellow pine comes from smaller trees that were thinned from overcrowded areas. After harvest, the trees were milled by Shawn on our Woodmizer bandsaw mill, with the wood then allowed to air-cure for one year.
