Hello <<First Name>>,

Does it seem like the pace of life is picking up, again? Even though Coronavirus cases continue to rise?

Indeed, busyness seems to be the way around here. The kids are back in school and there are lots of meetings for my spouse. Everyone is busy-busy.

Except me. It seems that I'm not exactly going into warp speed mode - at least not with the hatmaking. :(

"What am I doing?", you ask.

Instead, I'm trying to learn more about Video Production, using my Android Phone and an editing app, Kinemaster. Admittedly, it's something that I have been meaning to do for a while. However, it ~may not~ be the best use of my skills and time. But, somehow, it is stretching my brain. And that can't be a bad thing, right?

The Results
So I present to you, some photos that I *extracted* from videos that shot at nearby Crouse Run Nature Reserve. (If you live in the Pittsburgh area, it is definitely worth a visit. Note: there are streams to cross via flat stones, so it's not exactly a doddle. But, you do feel like you are having an adventure in nature!)

Me wearing red raincoat and sitting on stairs to nowwhere.

Me wearing my red raincoat and sitting on a set of stairs to that go to nowhere. I didn't end up using any of the footage shot on the stairs because the light was so very dappled. It was hard to see the hat!
Me wearing the tall gnome hat.

Here I am wearing the tall Green Gnome Hat. Oddly, it has the most views on my website. No idea why. You can see a short video of it on Instagram or Facebook.

If you are curious about the hat, it can be found here, in my shop.

See What Everyone is Looking at...
Something Red and Unfinished

In between, learning to make videos, I've been s l o w l y  working on this tall Red Witch Hat. The bulging sections have a thin resist which I was planning to cut lengthwise. But, seeing an exciting felted vessel by accomplished feltmaker, Helga Yaillin, (via Instagram) I'm thinking of making vertical cuts.

Do you ever do that - change your vision?

Anyway, I'm excited to see how this hat goes. So that's a good thing.

Hopefully, my learning curve is flattening with video production. Then, I can return to my first love AND better document it!

Red Witch Hat -very wet!

Voila! A rather wet witch hat.

Thank you for reading, and as always, take care of yourself and your loved ones.

With appreciation,

PS: I'm so excited to further stretch my brain --  I have registered for Zsofia Marx's upcoming Felted Hat Class - the Master one!

Not sure if she still has spots...but you could always email her. Here's her website.
