As world leaders gather for the first ever fully digital #UNGA75, advocates have an equally unprecedented opportunity to bring gender equality messaging, activism, and calls to action to a wider audience than ever before.

With UNGA streaming from the halls of power directly into our homes, Women Deliver is mobilizing a groundswell of voices from around the world. Whether through hosting a recorded, trilingual webinar on compounded crises that is accessible to more people or launching an action-packed microsite that equips advocates with key messages, data points, and graphics so they can better engage with Generation Equality, we're harnessing the power of a global audience to drive progress for gender equality.

It's time to meet this virtual moment head on. We look forward to you taking big, bold action for girls and women alongside us — this time, online.

✨ NEW TOOL! ✨
Generation Equality Microsite

Women Deliver is excited to announce a new, interactive website intended for policymakers and private sector leaders to learn how they can drive solutions for girls and women by making bigger, bolder contributions to a more gender-equal world. This resource is available in English, Spanish, and French and can be an important tool for advocates around the world.

As you know, COVID-19 is unraveling hard-won progress toward gender equality. The Generation Equality Forum remains a crucial opportunity to protect the progress made following the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and to push further to guarantee the health and rights of all girls and women.

We know that progress toward gender equality is possible because we’ve seen important gains over the last 25 years. We also know that governments and the private sector are key partners in realizing a gender-equal future. This site shows where progress has been made, what gaps remain, and provides seven recommendations to take up now.

Today, nearly all crises are complex, founded on not just a single armed conflict or natural disaster but the compilation of multiple compounded crises. This has been clear during the COVID‑19 pandemic, which has had a significant impact on girls, women, and marginalized groups already affected by humanitarian emergencies. Local feminist civil society organizations (CSOs) have served as frontline responders during these crises, but still lack the resources and support they need. They have always been there, at the heart of all humanitarian emergencies, and it’s time to shift more power and funding to them.

Join us to hear from feminist CSOs in Lebanon and Bangladesh responding to compounded crises and discuss what a more feminist and localized approach to addressing complex humanitarian situations must look like.

In case you missed it...

The UN COVID-19 Omnibus Resolution, “Comprehensive and Coordinated Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic,” passed the General Assembly in a plenary meeting on 11 September. You can view it here. Women Deliver worked with partners to ensure that gender equality and girls and women’s health and rights were appropriately recognized in the resolution, and we are pleased that UN Member States affirmed and called for action on many gender dimensions of the COVID-19 pandemic — including women’s roles as leaders and decision-makers in the health workforce and communities, growing burdens of unpaid care, increased rates of gender-based violence, and access to health services to maintain sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights.

Below is a collection of relevant events with links to their recordings:
