Highlights of FY 2021 ICD-10-CM and PCS Changes

As the seasons change and temperatures begin to get cooler, coders recognize it's also the time of year to adjust to the new ICD codes and Guideline definitions. This year we’ll find a total of 490 new CM codes, 47 revisions, and 58 deleted codes. For PCS, there will be 544 new codes without any revisions or deletions. I believe this is a result of perfecting the PCS tables since ICD implementation. Tables, including the CM/PCS new, invalid, revised codes, updated CC/MCC listing, as well as MSDRG (version 38), can all be found here.
