Quick updates:

  • Our website is not updating. We're having technical difficulties accessing the administrative side of the library website, so we've been unable to update changes to our services, or list the Youth Services events mentioned later in this newsletter. For the most up-to-date info, please follow us on Facebook or call the library at 413-662-3133.
  • ComCat is back! The majority of libraries are participating again in the Commonwealth Catalog. Talk to our Reference Department if you need assistance.
  • Computer appointments: Yes, we promised this service would be coming soon... We're still working on it, so stay tuned!

Museum passes are back!

When museums started opening back up over the summer, the range of processes to reserve a time was too cumbersome for library staff to add to our curbside workflow, so we did not make passes available right away. Now that there has been time to streamline the process, we are happy to once again make our passes for MASS MoCA and The Clark Art Institute available to patrons.

Museums are requiring you to reserve a time slot before you go. In order to keep passes "first come, first served" we can not hold them aside for you days ahead of time. Here's how it will work:
  1. Call us in the morning on the day you want to borrow the museum pass. If one is available, we will check it out to you and put it on that day's Curbside Pickup cart.
  2. Go online or call MASS MoCA or The Clark to reserve your entry date and time. (So far people have had no trouble finding a time on the day they pick up the pass. Passes check out for 2 nights/3 days.)
  3. When making your reservation, choose "library pass" as your payment option.
  4. Bring the pass with you to the museum.
  5. HAVE A GREAT TIME!
  6. Return the pass to the library book drop.
Please note: If a pass is not picked up by the end of curbside hours on the day you requested it, we will check it back in and make it available for others. We will not hold it over until the next day. Anyone with repeated "no shows" at pickup will not be able to request the pass in the future. This is to ensure that everyone has equal access.

Fun fall events from our Youth Services Department!

Families interested in registering for a library card are asked to please bring a photo ID and a piece of mail with a current address.
