What is the PSI Fellows program?
The Polsky Science Innovation (PSI) Fellows program provides the opportunity to learn and execute early venture de-risking and business development activities on behalf of high-potential technologies emerging out of UChicago labs.
What does a PSI Fellow do?
Over six weeks each Fall and Spring quarter, PSI Fellows will conduct assessments of technologies and identify potential market opportunities, supported by training and coaching from Polsky staff. Following the assessment, Fellows have the possibility to continue supporting these start-ups by developing business models, analyzing product-market fit, and preparing for future investment pitches.
Who is eligible to apply?
- Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at UChicago, specifically academic programs in science and/or business.
- Demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship
- Ability to plan, prioritize and oversee multiple projects and meet deadlines for deliverables
- Able to commit to 10-15 hours/week to the program
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
