THE 2020 CREATIVE COLLOQUY CRAWL IS EVERYWHERE

Every year, Creative Colloquy hosts a literary pub crawl in downtown Tacoma. This year, due to the pandemic, CC is bringing the stories to you. The Crawl will be online, all-ages (including our first ever kids story time) and spread over a whole weekend of literary awesomeness.

If you're interested in hearing me perform, I'll be reading a brand new short story as part of the Volume Seven Sneaky Peeks event on Saturday, October 3 at 2pm. I hope to virtually see you there.

Each event is free to attend, but you do need to register to get access to the Zoom link. Learn more about the weekend's shenanigans below:

NEW BLOG AND WRITING NEWS
This summer, we took our kayaks to the water for the first time. It was great exercise and easy way to social distance. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there were excellent places to paddle within 15 minutes of home. So, I wrote a quick guide to my favorite kayaking spots in Tacoma.
READ THE BLOG
I've been writing and submitting a lot of short fiction these past few months. And it's paying off. I recently received two acceptances within a week of each other, which is still blowing my mind.

I'm pleased to share that my short story "Pyrocene" was selected for publication in Creative Colloquy Vol. 7, due out later this year and my story "Firemaker" will be published by All Worlds Wayfarer in their Winter Solstice issue, now available for pre-order. (More on my obsession with fire metaphors in an upcoming blog post.)
WHAT I'M READING AND LISTENING TO
I have a lot of time these days to read, listen and learn. Here's what I've been enjoying this month:
BOOKS: PODCASTS: FROM AROUND THE INTERNET:
THE LAST WORD
The world is on fire. So, take care of yourself. Unplug. Read a book. Relax. And once you're recharged, take that energy and use it to advocate, vote, and stand up for injustice (while wearing a mask and washing your hands frequently). Thanks for reading!
