AS A REMINDER - HERE IS THE PREVIOUS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE NEWSLETTER (w/c 29th June), RE RESTRICTIONS AND NEW PRECAUTIONS:
(note: Some points may now be superseded)
The Management Committee have reviewed available guidelines and implemented the following important changes:
Members need to be mindful due to the government guidelines regarding social distancing at all times.
Please be aware, that entry may be refused if the Club reaches the social distance capacity.
Entry to the Club will be by using your Door Entry Card (no tail-gating). It is really important that EVERYONE taps their card when entering.
Tapping your card is to comply with the requirement to record Club visits, supporting the NHS Test and Trace system, and is a GOV requirement.
The club will be open to members, member's partners & their children only.
During these restrictions, no members guests will be allowed entry. Strictly members only.
New members doing their 26 sign-ins will be signed in by the doorman to avoid cross contamination. The new members probationary period is extended to the end of December (compensating for lost lockdown time).
All members will be asked to use the hand sanitiser when entering the Club (and when entering/leaving the toilets). Hand sanitiser dispensers are located around the Club.
There is a reduced seating capacity, with tables and chairs properly spaced to comply with safe distancing throughout the Club.
You will be assigned a table when you arrive.
You will be required to remain seated whenever possible and will not be allowed to come to the bar, or to generally circulate around the Club
The Bar Staff will be providing table service only with card payment wherever possible. So ordering, delivery and payment will all be at the table.
Empty glasses to remain on the table, and will be collected by Club Staff.
When Member's leave the Club, their table and chairs will be sanitised.
The Club's Staff will have appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE), and are going through training on the new guidelines and requirements.
You are currently not obliged to wear a face mask at the Club. However wearing a mask in certain situations shows respect to others and GOV advice suggests you should in small shops, taxis and on public transport.
There will be a ‘One-In’ and ‘One-Out’ policy in the toilets, please abide by these rules, and don't forget to use the hand sanitiser.
Of course everyone is expected to already be fully and properly washing their hands - the main way to avoid passing the virus to others - "Happy Birthday To You ... "
Unfortunately for the time being there will be no hot food, bingo, play your cards right, live entertainment, darts, or snooker.
FYI There is a GOV guideline to keep ambient noise levels low, to avoid people needing to move closer to each other or to shout (both increase infection rate). As a result, if the Club decides to show football (decision not made yet), the sound will be low.
You may feel some of these rules and restrictions are somewhat demanding, but they are necessary for everyone's enjoyment and safety. All restrictions will be constantly monitored and reviewed.
It will be a different experience. But we're working to make it a safe one, and one that enables you to return to the Club.
