As the season comes to a close for most of our teams I think we can all agree we are fortunate to have got a full season of football in this year. At this stage of the season we are usually guaranteed some exciting finallies and this season is no different. Our Women’s Premier team go for the grand slam on Saturday night when they look to add the Reta Fitzpatrick Cup to the WPL and Hawkey Shield successes. Unfortunately some of the team’s players have been put in a tight spot and unfairly being asked to choose between the Cup Final and a NZ Futsal camp. A choice between club loyalty and an possible international career is clearly something that players should not have to choose between but unfortunately NZ Futsal and Mainland Football could not come to an agreement and Cashmere declined the request to move the date so it’s Coastal v the rest on Saturday. Lets get as many Coastal fans to the game on Saturday to cheer the Girls.
Good Luck Girls, we are all with you! #strongertogether
The MPL team play Christchurch United this week at Linfield Park, the Boys will be forgiven for having one eye on a big cup game themselves when they play Cashmere Tech in the English Cup Semi Final early next month but with 2 MPL games left and second spot still mathematically up for grads I am sure the Boys will be focused on Saturday.
Come and support the Guys at Linfield Park, number 1 on Saturday, 2.45pm, have a beer and then get to English Park for the Reta Final. Sounds like a perfect afternoon to me.
