October Month of Giving!!
October 1st- 31st

This year’s October “Month of Giving” Campaign is a direct request to families to help fund key programs not supported by the district. We do not want to lose any programs that enrich the education of all our students at Emerson!

Because we will not be at school in person, many of our annual fundraisers such as the Halloween Carnival, Walkathon, Cheetah Swag Sales, etc, will not happen this year due to Covid 19. The month of October will be the ONLY time the Fundraising Committee asks directly for money.  Making a donation to Emerson is an easy and helpful way to offer support while stuck at home and to uplift our community during these trying times.

Ways to Give:
  • Via PayPal, with a credit/debit card, or by mailing a check.
  • TK/K - consider one more month of your preschool tuition.
  • Please check with your work and community for donation matches.
  • Share and ask friends, family, and community members!
  • Can't donate now? That's okay! You can donate to the Emerson Enrichment Fund anytime of year.
Any contributions big or small will go far in giving all of our students’ access to these great programs and a nourishing elementary school experience.

Tax Deductible
The Emerson PTA is a non-profit organization and donations are tax-deductible. Our tax-ID number is: #90-1248617.

Checks are Appreciated
You can also, always write a check! Checks can be mailed to Emerson Oakland PTA  c/o Emerson Elementary, 4803 Lawton Avenue, Oakland, CA 94609. Please make checks out to:  Emerson Oakland PTA

It's Time to put schools and communities first by voting
YES on PROP 15!!

While the wealthiest corporations avoid paying their fair share, our schools have the most crowded classrooms in the nation and our local communities are struggling to respond to the impact of COVID.

Just 10% of California’s most expensive nonresidential commercial properties account for 92% of Prop 15’s loophole-closing revenues.

Prop 15 will reclaim billions of dollars every year for our schools, community colleges, and essential local services in EVERY county!

This ballot measure is supported by the California PTA and the Oakland Teachers Union.

OUSD is asking all families to complete the 2020 Census!!

Let the Federal Government know how many people we have in our District, our City and our Region so that we receive the proper amount of resources and representation in Congress!

You will NOT be asked any questions about immigration status.

You can complete the 2020 Census by:
  • Filling out the 2020 Census form you received + mailing it back!
  • Calling in to submit the 2020 Census by phone: (844) 330-2020.
  • Filing the Census online: www.2020census.gov.

This poster was one of the winners of OUSD's 2020 Census Poster contest, created by Lily A., a 6th grader at Montera. Great work, Lily!
