Updated advice for sporting activity
Yesterday, the NSW Chief Health Officer updated the guidelines for community sport to allow inter-district and inter-regional competitions to recommence from tomorrow, Saturday 26 September. Swimming NSW has updated its Club & Area Activity Guidelines to reflect these changes. We have also created new guidelines to assist Technical Officials with dispensing their duties in a
COVID-safe manner. You can find these guidelines below and via our
COVID-19: SNSW advice page.

Click here to read the Chief Health Officer's advice - 24 September 2020.
If you have additional questions or want to know more about how to implement the guidelines, you can register for our upcoming SNSW State Fourm Webinar #3: COVID-19 Restrictions Update & SNSW Activity Guidelines
on 1 October 2020.
Note: you must register to receive your Zoom meeting link.
Service NSW COVID Safe check-in app

To help organisations with record keeping, the NSW Government is offering a new COVID Safe Check-in feature in the Service NSW App. Sport and recreation organisations registered as a COVID Safe business will receive an email with their unique QR code.

The Service NSW COVID Safe Check In program provides a free and secure option for organisations which may be considering the transition to an online platform and could be used to supplement existing registration data. As customers are verified by the app, customer details are stored for NSW Health to access for contact tracing purposes, if required. Below is a link to document that explains the benefits of using Service NSW's COVID-Safe Check-in.

It's the ultimate inter-club contest, with swimmers of all ages and abilities able to compete in a series of traditional and non-traditional events to earn points for their club over five rounds of competition.

The club with the most points at the end of the Challenge will take home an
all-inclusive fully automated Wylas Timing system worth $5,500! In addition to the major club prize, there will be a host of individual prizes for swimmers, coaches, and clubs.
Find out more about the 2020 SNSW Wylas Club Challenge at the link below.

Clubs have until 5 pm, Monday 5 October to submit their results for round 1, so there's still plenty of time to get on board! Email: tim.donlan@nsw.swimming.org.au to register your club and receive your Team Manager shell, where you will record your results.

Membership

  • We regret to advise that Purchase Orders (PO) cannot be done for anyone wishing to use an AK voucher number, OR when the club applies Volume Discounts
    • If a PO has been made for a member, please ask them to remove it from their cart and then follow the standard purchasing a product process
  • SNSW has noticed there have been members who have purchased Life Member memberships because they are available in the catalogue. We request that all clubs:
    • Immediately switch OFF the product’s availability. Here is how to do this.
    • Check your ‘Purchases’ tile and download the report (filter to the day you began taking memberships) and check for anyone that has registered as a Life Member incorrectly. Ask them to purchase the correct memberships or else these swimmers will not be able to enter meets moving forward. For further assistance please contact admin@nsw.swimming.org.au.
    • For clubs who have recently elected new Life Members, please email admin@nsw.swimming.org.au.

Events

  • Last week we advised that our help guide to add membership requirements to your meets. Here is this specific guide. Please note that it also contains instructions on how to add Relationship requirements too.

 Admin

  • Entity ‘Positions’ – please make sure your Committee list is updated in Swim Central, so we know who to contact at any required time. A couple of points to note:
    • Anyone successfully listed in your Positions tile has access to your club’s documents and member information, so consider whether it is actually vital that you add those who help with club night across functions such as BBQ etc, but hold no official committee position
    • Once a part of the committee, the member must become a financial member of the club (if not already).
    • Club Registrars have the opportunity to book a 30-minute time slot to speak with a Swimming NSW staff member via Zoom or regular phone call, regarding registration season. This session should explain everything regarding setting up your membership products for the upcoming season, as well the simplified Active Kids process for this season and beyond. Note: You will not be able to book more than one appointment and a Zoom link will be sent to you prior to your meeting. If you have any further queries, please get in touch with us.
