Going To New Heights With Royal Rangers Slovenia

Greetings from Slovenia!
Dan had the rare and exciting opportunity to take part in an EPIC Royal Rangers hike this month, and we wanted to share its significance with you all in a *SPECIAL* newsletter!

Triglav, A National Symbol

If you've ever taken a close look at the Slovenian crest, you've seen the outline of Triglav - the three-peaked mountain - that boasts Slovenia's highest point at 2864 m /9395 ft. There is a saying, that no one can be a "true" Slovene unless they have climbed Triglav. It has been a dream of Dan's ever since we moved here, to make this hike, so when the opportunity arose to do it along with his fellow Royal Rangers, he jumped at the possibility!

Getting Ready For The Hike

Because they are Royal Rangers, they decided to take a more difficult and longer course, which included actual mountain climbing, as well as hiking.

The Hike

9 Royal Rangers embarked on the adventure together! The first day they hiked to the first "hut", the second day they made the summit, and the third day they made the (long) way home.
All in all, they hiked 47.76 km/29.7 miles! It was a tremendous time of building camaraderie, achieving new heights, and pushing their abilities to the limit! Oh, and of course enjoying a well-deserved cup of coffee at the very top.

Royal Rangers Slovenia

We are so thankful to be a part of the Slovenian Royal Rangers ministry! It has opened up new relationships and opportunities that we are excited to continue. When we return for our second term, we plan on starting an outpost at our local church here in Ptuj.
