Do not to pursue a rating % as your goal in your VA Claims and Appeals …. instead seek to service connect every disability that resulted from your military service.When you have achieved that goal – all conditions that can be service connected are, all impairment ratings are properly assessed, and all effective dates are properly selected – that is when I say a Veteran should stop fighting for the VA Benefits to which they are entitled.

Watchdog Faults VA Suicide Tracking

The Department of Veterans Affairs should do a more thorough job of determining the cause of veterans’ suicides on VA campuses, the government’s chief watchdog agency stated in a recent report.“The Department of Veterans Affairs’ process for identifying on-campus suicides does not include a step for ensuring the accuracy of the number of suicides identified,” the Government Accountability Office (GAO) report said. “As a result, its numbers are inaccurate.”

Veterans Affairs Denies About 78% Of Burn Pit Claims

The United States is approaching nearly 20 years of war in Iraq and Afghanistan and the Global War on Terror and 30 years since the Gulf War. But the Department of Veterans Affairs is still denying close to 80% of all burn pit related claims veterans file. VA officials told Capitol Hill lawmakers on Wednesday that 2,828 of the 12,582 disability claims filed by veterans related to burn pit exposure from 2007 to 2020 were approved -- about 22%. In 2019, VA said it had approved about 20% of the more than 11,000 claims filed, denying about 80%.

Many veterans have taken advantage of the loan forbearance program provided by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act).Under the Act, borrowers who have federally-backed loans can receive forbearance of their monthly home loan payments, for up to 360 days. Forbearance does not mean forgiveness. As Veterans exit their CARES Act forbearance periods, they must work with their mortgage company to determine when to repay the missed amounts.
