Join Dr. Hinojosa on a second "first day of school", district welcomes back youngest learners

Superintendent Michael Hinojosa will visit students and staff as they meet again face-to-face for the first time in six months on Dallas ISD's second "first day". Students moving to a new campus or grade, such as prekindergarten and kindergarten, who opted for in-person instruction will be welcomed by staff and administrators.

Arrive by 7 a.m., Monday, Sept. 28
Media is asked to arrive and set up by this time prior to the superintendent's arrival. |

- Dr. Hinojosa will meet and greet students who opted for in-person learning and teachers in various classrooms practicing social-distancing protocols.
- Principal Garduño and select teachers will be available for interviews.
- Dr. Hinojosa is slated to speak with attending media following the visit.
- Masks are required inside all Dallas ISD buildings.

Winnetka, nestled in the Oak Cliff community, is most notably known for its robotics teams. As we prepare for the reopening of in-person learning, nearly 57 percent of families at Winnetka Elementary School have opted for in-person learning. |
