True Armyworms, Meat Regulations, Juicing, and an Electric Fencing Opportunity...
True Armyworm (TAW) Update
The TAW monitoring program has finished for the 2020 season. This spring and summer, 146 moths were collected in 11 pheromone traps across the Alberni Valley.
Sound like a lot?
Compare that to 320 moths across 6 traps in the Comox Valley, and 53 across 3 traps in the Cowichan Region.
No outbreaks or damage was noted on Vancouver Island.
Data is being analyzed by an Entomologist with the Ministry of Agriculture.

This concludes the current 3 year monitoring program, however a new program is in the works with funding from the Climate Action Initiative.
