 People, Places and Things

Nisreen - During a session of Through their lens.
This is the third installment of Through Their Lens: Each Photo essay will be by one child.

Why no one can stop them?

Picture here: I love the Ibrahimi Mosque and I used to go every day. When COVID 19 started I was not allowed to go, but one day I sneaked out and went there without telling my parents. The Israeli soldiers stopped me and I cried that day. I went home and told mom and cried and I questioned why no one can stop the Israeli soldiers from controlling us.

A gift from god

Pictured here:  My mother is the most precious person I have in life. She did and is still doing everything for me and my brothers and sisters for us to be happy. She is a piece of my soul and protector. She is life!

I learned everything from her. She is my refuge when I am sad or scared and I run to her when happy I love to tell her she is God’s gift for me, my refuge, and the cornerstone of our home.

I hope this will never happen again

Pictured here: Three years ago, in winter while we were in the house and my dad was going to work he was stopped by Israeli soldiers.

I used to go and document anything I saw and that day I realized it was my dad. Even though I was so scared I kept videoing what was happening. The Israeli soldiers tried to stop me but I didn’t stop. They took my dad to the police station and accused him of having weapons. He was transferred to Ofer Prison and stayed for nine days. We didn’t know anything about him in those days or how long he would stay. I was scared and sad and I was scared for my younger siblings.

After nine days he was released after paying bail. Hopefully  and by God this will never happen again
