The Pandemic Church:
Power, Impact, and
Simply Being the Body of Christ

Without denying the impact of the pandemic, we will look at ways to be church without being defined by it. Bruce Reyes-Chow will share best practices and invite conversations about the challenge of pastoral leadership, opportunities for strengthening congregational life, and practical ways to create worship space for in person and online participation.

When: Wednesday, October 14
Time: 1-3 pm, Eastern time
How: Zoom

This will also be recorded and shared via Facebook Live on the Presbytery of Boston's Facebook page.

Thinking about Advent and Christmas?

Check out this Advent resource guide from the PC(USA) store!

Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center is offering "Advent in a Box" resources. You can learn more about them here, which might get your own ideas flowing for providing at-home resources for each family in the congregation.

Join Cindy for an idea-sharing, collaboration conversation about Advent and Christmas at 1 pm on Wednesday, October 28 via Zoom. A link will be provided in a few weeks.
For Singers and Music Directors

On Thursday, October 29 at 7 pm, join Jennifer Bastien, Music Director at the Clinton Presbyterian Church (MA):
Making communal music during times of social distancing is a difficult task. As we head into the Advent and Christmas season singing Christmas Carols in the traditional way will not be possible. Until we can all sing together in person again safely, there are ways to create a sense of community using technology. I will show you a way that I have discovered that will allow members of the congregation to sing a hymn together giving back a snippet of that feeling. I will be using the programs Musescore and Soundtrap (both have free versions). Come listen to my ideas, share your own ideas, and get inspired.
Save the dates!

The Rev. Denise Anderson will be leading a webinar in two parts exploring "How to Build Stamina for Anti Racism Work." These webinars will help both build a deeper understanding for why we are called to be antiracists as followers of Jesus and develop skills for engaging that work on a regular basis.

Dates: November 7 & 14
Time: 10 am - 12 pm
Location: Zoom and the Presbytery's Facebook page

Registration will open in late October! These webinars are meant to build on one another, but you are welcome to attend only one. They will also be recorded and made available on the Presbytery's website.
