Meet Suzy the squirrel

This month meet Suzy the squirrel, one of Mr. Mouses' friends who will appear in the Tales of Mr. Mouse and his friends.  I have drafted this poem as an introduction.

Suzy will be given her own image by the talented artist David Smith, and I hope to have some imagery to share with you all soon.  In the meantime, enjoy the Poem and the picture.

Hi, my name is Suzy the Squirrel.
And by nature, I should be a solitary soul.
However, I live in woodlands surrounding the River Louse
And one of my best friends is Mr. Mouse

I like to forage at the hour when the day turns to night.
When the Moon is in the sky and shining so bright.
I am kept company by another friend, the Owl.
Owl deters nearby predators by the use of his talons and howl.

I am rusty red in colour and with a large bushy tail.
Which I use as a broom when I am preparing my country store for a sale.
When I forage, I collect items discarded by humans.
When they visit the countryside, I sell the items back to them, it’s a simple case of re-distribution.

You can read about me in the Tales of Mr. Mouse.  Keep watching this space for further news.
Mr. Mouse who lives with his wife and eleven children in a small house.
A house that sits in the woodlands surrounding the River Louse.

Mr. Mouse has many friends, including me.
I am Suzy the Squirrel, and I live mainly alone in the sanctuary of my large Oak tree.

Book Review

Only one book this time.  If I could give this book six stars, I would.

The largest book I have ever read.  The Way of Kings, a novel by Brandon Sanderson.
What a book!  From the first page to the last, it gripped me.  This a genre I would usually read being fantasy, but Brandon Sanderson has converted me.
The way he writes, the drawings, the quotes from poems, and literature at the beginning of a chapter.  It all adds up to a book you will love over and over again.
The book itself is divided into five books and each book has an interlude which will tell you more about an important character, or someone you may not have heard from in a while. Giving you the background story to key characters coming up.
My favourite character Kaladin, the soldier, no matter what life throws at him, even when he hits the bottom rung, becoming a Bridgeman, he doesn't lose his urge to survive.
He continues to fight, not just for himself but for his bridge men too.
I borrowed my copy from my son, but I will buy my own and proudly display it on my bookcase.
In the meantime, I move onto book two Words of Radiance.
There are three books in the series with the fourth due out November this year, timely for a Christmas pressie idea don't you think?
