Our beloved brother Mark is taking his leave of us on Saturday, October 17. He is going to live with his sister in Reno, helping her out after the recent death of her husband. The move is long-term, perhaps permanent, so we feel the need to give him a lovely send off, filled with our love.
On FRIDAY, OCT 16, we are going to do a Covid-safe drive by. Armed with cards and love, we will meet in our cars on the east side of Hilyard at 3:00. There will be a basket at the entrance to the parking lot, where you are encouraged to drop cards for him. Then the drive by will proceed around parking lot, moving slowly by Hospitality Village.
Due to Covid restrictions, no one can get out of their car, or stop and roll down the window for contact. Mark will stand a few feet back and receive our expressions as you roll by. There will be a couple of monitors to help us keep our boundaries intact.
In the meantime, if you want to give
him a card, but can't participate in the drive by, please drop them by the church in the outside mailbox. There probably isn't time for mail delivery, although that can be forwarded to him. His address here is the church's address—Mark Hubbell, 3925 Hilyard Street, 97405.
If you feel the need to drop by to see him, please call him first. Wear masks and socially-distance as you visit. You can meet at the Lichgate or, with his permission, at the table in Hospitality Village. Please don't take a group to meet with him. One or two at a time is the best idea. The church and the church grounds are not open for any group gatherings.
I'm looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible next Friday. It will be a great time to express our appreciation for all that Mark has done for us over the years. This is a big change for him, and we certainly wish him all the best, all our love, all the blessings for his continued journey.
