Dear <<First Name>>,

Liverpool Irish Festival is almost here!

Starting tomorrow at 2pm -and ending at about 6pm on Sun 25 Oct- we are presenting a bevvy of virtual events to entertain, stimulate and engage you, all with a connection to "exchange"! From conversations about Irish dual heritage lives, what Irish artists need and what it is to be a maker today; we also have films, children’s stories, literature and poetry. With such an abundance of creative talent, we hope there’s something for everyone, along with our newspaper which has now gone out to 20,000 homes! You can see the newspaper here.

As Liverpool heads in to a tier three Covid-19 lockdown (from today) and others continue to battle the social aspects of the virus, it’s worth remembering the Festival is a positive time for you to stay connected and pass the time.

Book your events now!

Click this link.

Some events require registration

All the events that require booking use Eventbrite, an online ticketing system. Tickets remain available across the programme, being that they are for online events. To book, click on “Book Now” on our event page, then on “Register” on the Eventbrite booking page and then select ‘1’ from the drop-down (by “General Admission”) or add a donation amount. Eventbrite will only allow you to reserve one ticket, because you will be online and therefore it assumes you will watch on one device from one account. If someone else in your household wants to watch in another room, you will need to use different email account, because you can’t log in on Eventbrite or Zoom twice with the same account.

What is Zoom?

Zoom is an online meeting programme - it needs to be downloaded. Events that require registration will also need you to be logged in to Zoom. You can download the software by signing in for a free account at www.zoom.us.

Please do this as soon as you can, rather than waiting until the time of the event. We don’t want you to miss too much!

Please note, Zoom will not let you enter the event before the Eventbrite start time – so bear with us if you try to enter early. The event will open in to a film and we will join shortly after.

No registration events

Some of our events will be broadcasts on Facebook. To watch you just need to head over to our Facebook page.

We will also make posts on Twitter, where you can follow us (@LivIrishFest), but ‘events’ (or broadcasts) will take place on Facebook, where we will also ensure someone is on hand to take questions.

So what’s on?

There's not a lot of point waffling about it! Take a look here at our events, here!

Festival partners

Even though you may think this is a quiet year for us, we still have vast numbers of partners. You can see them below. A key organisation that we’d like you take additional note of is Writing on the Wall and the Black History Month programme they have devised with city partners, which also runs this month.

#BlackLivesMatter, full stop.

Additional news

We are pleased to be able to announce that we have managed to secure cultural recovery funding to help see us through the next six months of the pandemic. This is a significant investment in our work and -we hope- recognition of our inclusion, quality and status within the national portfolio of work supported by Arts Council England and HM Government.

That said, the Festival still needs help. If you are able to make a donation to help support our work please do so at www.liverpoolirishfestival.com/give

Looking forward to 2D-ing you all!
