For this Wed@One, Floria Lasky Visiting Artist Jose Solís, will be talking to the director and cast members of Mac Beth, an all-female production of the Shakespeare classic that played last Spring at the Red Bull Theater and this winter at Hunter Theater Project.

Jose said: "I've seen over a dozen productions of Macbeth, and none had the urgency, vitality, and poetry of Erica Schmidt's adaptation. Her all-female Mac Beth made me understand the inherent tragedy of the play: that our destinies are determined by the roles we choose to play and not by our stars. This was especially poignant because of the powerful work of the all-female ensemble,  who showcased the insidiousness of toxic masculinity and the pervasive way in which we inherit an addiction to violence. I saw the production three times and with apologies to any Bard purists, it's the only adaptation I'd like to see done from now on."

Don't miss this performance of The Last Five Years produced by a team of Hunter students and alumni!

The Last Five Years is an emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. The show's unconventional structure consists of Cathy telling her story backwards while Jamie tells her story chronologically.

Directed by our very own Jose Noel and stage managed by Monika Orzelowski, we hope you'll join us in supporting this quarantine production.
