Welcome to the term 4 edition of the ZEALANDIA Education E-News.
In our final e-news of what has been a truly momentous 2020, we are all about 2021.
Term 4, though, has been packed with school and ECE visits during both the day and night. Outreach sessions have been delivered across the Wellington region and we have even delivered some bespoke sessions via our internet connection. As we come toward the end of 2020, the Learning team would like to wish you a safe and happy end to the year and a very happy and relaxing festive period. Booking for 2021
The demand for learning experiences with ZEALANDIA | Te Māra a Tāne increases every year.
We are particularly busy during the warmer months which coincide with the beginning and end of the academic year. If you would like to visit us during these times we advise you to book as soon as possible. Our slightly quieter months are during the middle of the year, but even demand during these periods is increasing. Again, we advise you to book as early as possible.

We offer sanctuary day sessions, after hours sanctuary night walks and sleepovers, outreach and digital outreach experiences for ECE and schools. Full details and costs are available online.
What's free for schools in 2021
Nature at Your Place is a free programme for decile 1 to 6 schools from across the wider Wellington region. Primary, intermediate and secondary schools are eligible to take part.
Participating schools receive 2 free outreach visits from a ZEALANDIA Education Ranger and a funded trip for up to 50 students to ZEALANDIA. A 50-seat coach is provided free-of-charge to ensure you get here and home again.
This programme is designed to support you to deliver a conservation or nature-based outcome in your own school or community. We can tailor your experiences to suit.
We are looking to partner with two decile 1 - 6 primary schools in 2021 as part of a new learning experience at ZEALANDIA.
Currently under development, and seeking funding, we are looking for two schools who would be interested in partnering with us to deliver a nature based outcome of the schools choosing.
These projects will be developed in collaboration with the participating schools and ZEALANDIA's contribution will be shaped to best support student and teacher learning.

After Dark in 2021
We have launched a brand new Sleepover @ ZEALANDIA experience for 2021.
The favourites are still in there with sleepover participants meeting the critters of the night on a ZEALANDIA education night walk and then experiencing the unique dawn chorus of the ZEALANDIA valley.
New for 2021, we have introduced a series of fun and interactive workshops. Exploring birds and beaks, teeth and tech, participants will take part in fun, hands-on activities and learn what makes animals survive and thrive. These workshops will change seasonally and cover themes and ideas connected to nature and conservation.
Alongside the new workshops, we have introduced a new breakfast, shifted sleeping arrangements into the ZEALANDIA Exhibition, have staff onsite for the duration of the programme and offer you the chance to arrive early if you need to get sorted. (Conditions apply.)
Please note that the cost of the Sleepover @ ZEALANDIA experience has increased for 2021.

Designed to be used in the classroom, at the sanctuary or even at home, ZEALANDIA resources can support learners in all environments.
