Rugby News

Unless you've been living under a rock (or in Covid19 free New Zealand) you'll be aware of the impact of Covid-19 on everything including rugby. The reality is, we are unlikely to see competitive rugby (as spectators) at Heywood Road until at least the New Year. That's the bad news.

The good news is, we are seeing lots of people down at Carrington in all age groups! From  Tricky's Pups to our first team squad. More than 250 children turn up every Sunday morning down at Carrington including more than 30 Colts. We also have children training on Thursday evenings, Social Rugby on a Wednesday and Sale 1861 and Sale 1st team are also down at Carrington twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Carrington is getting busier and busier!

If you've been down to Carrington recently you may also be aware of our new development plans. For more information on that go here, or read below.

For those of you going to Carrington for training, remember we are following our local Covid-19 protocols, so you must be temperature checked and be signed in before entering the fields. If you go into the clubhouse you must wear a mask.

For more information on the return to rugby, the RFU have information here.
