What a glorious week! The scholars have spent a lot of time outside soaking up the sun and fresh air! 

 
1st Quarter Parent/Teacher Conferences
Can you believe that we are almost at the end of the 1st quarter? The GCA teachers want to meet with you to discuss your scholar's report card for this quarter. We will be using SignUpGenius again this year for in-person parent/teacher conferences. An informational email with available dates and times will be sent to you soon. Please keep an eye out for this email and click on the link to sign up for your conference.  If you wish to have a virtual meeting instead of in-person, you must still sign up for a date and time through the SignUpGenius link and we ask that you notify your teacher in advance about this preference. If you have any questions about the sign up link, please contact Miss Penny in the office.
 
Immunization Records
If your scholar is in K4/K5, 4th, 6th, 7th grade or if your scholar is new to GCA, we will need for you to submit a copy of current immunization records. If you have any questions, you may call the school office or email Miss Penny (schooladmin@graceva.org). Thank you!


     
It's starting to get chilly!
Do you or your scholar need a long-sleeve GCA t-shirt for the colder months? Come to our pop-up shop on Friday, October 9th, under the tent at the back of the parking lot. 3:30 - 4:15pm. Long sleeve shirts are $15. We will also have short sleeve shirts for $10. Exact change or checks (payable to GCA) are appreciated. Sorry - no credit cards.  Please be sure to park so that other vehicles can exit the pick-up line.

Altar'd State - Fair Oaks Mall 
There is still time to support GCA at the Fair Oaks Mall Altar'd State store. We are their Mission Monday recipient. In addition to having a prominent display at the store. GCA will receive 10% of all Monday sales through October 12th! 
 
In celebration of Reformation Day, the scholars are invited and encouraged to dress up as someone or something from the Bible on Wednesday, October 28.  It's fun to try to guess who or what certain scholars have dressed up as.  As you plan, please note that scholars should not dress up as Jesus or the devil. Thank you!
A Message from PMK Photography: 
Picture Day is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20!  Like many things this school year, picture day will be a little different than in past years.  We will only be doing individual and sibling portraits on these days.  Our plan is to do the class pictures and the whole school picture sometime in the spring as things hopefully get back to normal.  Please continue to follow Grace Christian Academy’s protocols for the health of your scholar(s) in sending them to school.  If your scholar(s) is/are not feeling well, do NOT send them to school just because it is picture day and you don’t want to miss out.  We recognize that there may need to be multiple months of picture days in order to get each smiling face and we will have as many pictures days as is necessary to get everyone!
 
The goal is to get everyone done on Tuesday, October 20.  But due to social distancing, it may take a little bit longer than usual.  If it turns out that we need to return on Thursday, October 22, Miss Penny will e-mail those classes that will have their pictures taken on Thursday.
 
As in previous years, each family will have their own password-protected online gallery that will have your scholar(s) pictures.  Information about access and passwords will be provided in the final week of October.

Se está cambiando el clima
Si su escolar necesita una polera de manga larga de GCA, vengan a nuestra “tiendita” en el parqueo de la escuela este viernes 9 de octubre de 3:30-4:15pm.  El costo será $15 (y poleras de mangas cortas a $10).  Favor de pagar con efectivo exacto o cheque (a nombre de GCA).  Lamentablemente no podemos aceptar tarjetas de crédito.  Y si desean hacer una compra, les pedimos que ese día se parqueen, para que los otros vehículos puedan salir normalmente.   


Altar'd State - Fair Oaks Mall 
Todavía hay tiempo para apoyar a GCA en la tienda Altar'd State localizada en el Fair Oaks Mall. Estamos hacienda promoción del colegio durante el mes y GCA recibirá un 10% de las ventas de los lunes, desde ahora hasta el 12 de octubre.   
 Récord de vacunas
Si su hijo es de K4, K5, grado 4, grado 6, grado 7, o si es nuevo a GCA, necesitamos una copa de su record de vacunas.  Si tienen alguna pregunta, llamen a la oficina o comuníquense con Miss Penny por email  (schooladmin@graceva.org). ¡Gracias!
 
Conferencias con los profesores—fin de trimestre
Nos estamos acercando al final del primer trimestre y los profesores quieren darles a ustedes la oportunidad de discutir las notas y el progreso de sus escolares.  Si desean tener una reunión en persona, o virtual, pueden apuntarse al utilizar SignUpGenius.  Pronto van a recibir un email con toda la información, les invitamos a responder con su preferencia (en persona o virtual), fecha y hora.  Comuníquense con Miss Penny en la oficina para preguntas. 
 


El día de la Reforma
El miércoles 28 de octubre, en celebración del día de la reforma, estamos invitando a todos los escolares a disfrasarse como alguna persona, cosa o historia de la Biblia.  Los demás compañeros intentarán de averiguar sobre los disfrases.  Solo pedimos que no se visten de Jesús o el diablo.  Gracias.
 

 

Fotos—Un mensaje de PMK Photography
El día para las fotos de todos los escolares será el martes 20 de octubre.  Por favor, noten los siguientes cambios para este año.  Se tomarán fotos individuales y de los hermanos.  Esperamos tomar fotos de las clases más tarde, tal vez durante la primavera.  Deben seguir respetando el protocol de salud de GCA ese día.  Y en caso que su hijo no se siente bien ese día, les instamos que no lo envíen a la escuela simplemente porque es el día de las fotos.  Si es necesario volver a tomar fotos varias veces durante el año, vamos a hacerlo con mucho gusto.  Queremos tomar todas las fotos posibles el día 20 de octubre, pero debido a la distancia social puede tomar más tiempo de lo normal.  Si es necesario, volveremos el jueves 22 de octubre para terminar, y Miss Penny les avisará a los escolares cuyas fotos se tomarán ese día. 
 
Como en los otros años pasados, se le proveerá a cada familia una contraseña particular para ver la galeria de sus fotos.  Compartiremos esa información la última semana de octubre.  Si tienen preguntas, no tengan pena y comuníquense conmigo.  Nos vemos el día 20.
