Reminder for Service Unit Product Chairs (SUPCs) – Your delivery information is due in the M2 System by Sunday, October 11!

You will be prompted to enter your delivery station information every time you log into the M2 System. You will be asked to enter this once for product delivery, and a second time for reward delivery. You can enter two different addresses if you would like rewards shipped to a different location than where your service unit’s product will be delivered!

While you can skip this step, you will be prompted to enter this information every time you log in to the M2 System up until Sunday, October 11. After that date, you will be unable to enter this information and must contact
info@gsiowa.org to have it entered for your service unit.

Don’t forget to check out the
SUPC Checklist for additional information on managing deliveries for your service unit!

Important notes:
  • The delivery agent (our logistics partner who delivers the product and rewards) determines the delivery date and time frame. Therefore, any date and time requests are not guaranteed, but they do their best to accommodate your busy schedules!
  • If your service unit does not have an SUPC, your Volunteer Experience Manager will work with troops in your area to find a delivery location and communicate the delivery date and time once that is determined.

Fall Product Program Financials

One of the best things about the Fall Product Program is the troop proceeds that your troop earns for participating! Troops earn 15% of nut sales and 20% of magazine sales.

Remember to deposit all cash and checks, in their original form, into the troop bank account no later than October 27. Payment is auto withdrawn from your troop bank account on November 5. Each troop will receive an email on October 29 with the amount being withdrawn. Troop proceeds are calculated and left in your account.

To enter your troop’s bank account information in the M2 System, go under the Financials and Reporting section, select “Banking & Payments.” On the next screen, click the “+” to the left of your troop number and select “Manage ACH.”  You will enter your troop’s bank account information on the screen that pops-up and select save.

Don’t have a troop bank account yet?  You can view instructions on how to set-up one here

Join Us for a Reward and Fall Product Wrap-Up Q&A

Once you’ve collected all Nut Order Cards and money, you will need to review and submit the final product and reward order in the M2 System for your troop(s).

We’ll be hosting a live Q&A Session on Wednesday, October 21 for anyone to join who may have questions or want some additional help.

Register here for the live Q&A session to be held October 21 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa (GSGI) staff will also be available until 9:00 p.m. on October 21 at 800-342-8389 for additional questions and support!

Care to Share Donations

Here’s a run-down of Care to Share Donations, which allow troops to help locally distribute nuts and candy to our hometown heroes such as firefighters, police officers, first responders, and military personnel. (Specific items are not guaranteed.)

Girls can take donations in person, and customers can also make online donations. Each $7 donation counts towards the nuts and candy rewards (based on number of items sold), combined sales rewards (based on total sales amount), and also towards the Share patch, earned with 6 donations ($42).

Don’t forget to watch the Official GSGI Facebook Leader’s Group and the weekly Shout Outs! in November to submit your troop’s entry to help distribute these items to your local community!

Simone's Big Adventure Activity Kit

There’s still time for you and your Girl Scout(s) to join Simone the Sloth on her journey around the world! Check out the Simone’s Big Adventure Activity Kit, with activities like learning to samba in Brazil, building a windmill in the Netherlands, and surfing in Australia! Troops can complete activities together, or families can work on these at home. Fun patches are available for $2 per patch to purchase in the GSGI shop and online.

Service Unit Help Needed

We love our SUPCs – volunteers who help manage the Fall Product (and/or Cookie) Program for all the troops in the Service Unit. Each SUPC coordinates delivery and pickup of product and rewards items for the Fall Program, and helps as a resource for troops and families with questions.

We still need some SUPCs across the council. If you’re interested in taking this on in your area, please let us know asap! Don’t worry – we’ll be here every step of the way to support you.

Not sure if your Service Unit has an SUPC set-up already? Just ask! Contact us at info@gsiowa.org or give us a call at (800) 342-8389.

Product Update

Missing your Girl Scout Thin Mint™ Almonds? Thin Mint Almonds, made by Ashton Farms and introduced as part of the 2019 Fall Product Program are being sold this fall in select CVS stores.

This is an arrangement between Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) and Ashton Farms. We do not have any information on whether these are available in CVS stores in Iowa. GSUSA’s revenue for these products goes to support Girl Scouting nationwide. Research shows that consumers that purchase GSUSA licensed products, such as coffees, yogurts, or other goods you may see in stores, tend to purchase more Girl Scout Cookies from girls.

Tip of the Week!

Did your troop earn the 2020 Mud Run T-shirts (250+ per girl average) or order Troop Camp (5,000+ packages) sweatshirts or blankets? Those items are currently shipping out – be on the lookout for your shipping notifications from Broken Arrow and your items arriving soon! The Mud Run shirts are shipping first, with the Troop Camp items following shortly thereafter.
