Keeping this below info from a previous email:

I am hopeful you are each feeling settled into your classes.  How are you feeling about things so far?  Please schedule an appointment to discuss and connect with me.

In preparation for the upcoming Spring 2021 priority registration I wanted to let you know of the upcoming registration start dates.  As of Oct 1 the Spring semester schedule of classes for viewing and adding to the shopping cart became available to view.  Enrollment aka priority registration dates will be released to your Student Center as well in the coming weeks.  Priority registration/enrollment is when students may begin to finish enrolling and solidify your semester schedule.

What is class standing?
The number of units earned with a final grade are considered “earned units” and those are what determine one’s class standing (freshmen, sophomore, junior, senior).  Units that are in progress this semester are not calculated into class standing nor for priority registration.  Earned units can from from UA classes, transfer classes and test credit.
  • 0-29 earned units = freshmen/1st year student
  • 30-59 earned units = sophomore/2nd year student
  • 60-89 earned units = junior/3rd year student
  • 90+ = senior/4th year+ student

What is the UAccess shopping cart?
This is a space where you can load all classes you are interested in taking so they are all in one place, each semester.  Once your enrollment date has arrived, you can then finish enrolling and move classes from your shopping cart into your class schedule and secure your seat in the class.  Remember, classes in the shopping cart are not yours, yet, you must finish enrolling in them to secure your "seat" in the class.

Spring 2021 course offering updates:
  • AREC 479/579:
    • Prof. Colby has taught this course for many, many years, in 2021 she will be retiring and will not teach this course.  479/579 will not be offered in Spring 2021 unfortunately.  For some of you, we have planned for you to take it in Spring 2021, I sincerely apologize for this change, this change will cause inconveniences for those of you planning to take it.  Prof. Colby has found two strong courses to provide as replacement options, please review them and if neither of these options will fit into your semester class schedule, or if you have already completed them, and you are unable to take one of the two courses below, please schedule an advising appointment with me so we can explore your course options.  The two replacement options offered by Prof. Colby:
      • PA 484 Environmental Management
      • RNR 485 The Economics & Social Connections to Natural Resources
      • Students can also choose a course from the running list of "alternate courses" to satisfy AREC 479 in the EWRE & ABEM-ECON majors.
        • The alternate list with updated options for Spring 2021 will be sent out soon.  I need to review the courses in the schedule of classes before sending out the list. The linked document above is the Fall 2020 list.  The crossed out courses are still options, if they are offered in Spring 2021.  Updated list to come.
  • ECON 331, Intermediate Macroeconomics
    • The Eller College will not offer this course in Spring 2021.
    • For students graduating this Spring 2021, Summer 2021 and Fall 2021, please schedule an appointment with me so we can review your course options.
  • ECON 301, Intermediate Microeconomics
    • The Eller College will not offer this course in Spring 2021, students are referred to Fall 2021 offering of AREC 304 or Summer or Winter offerings of ECON 300 or ECON 361 (pre-req is calculus).  All students in ABEM & EWRE majors are required to take one of these courses to satisfy the intermediate microeconomics degree requirement: AREC 304, ECON 300 or ECON 301 or ECON 361.  ABEM minor students must complete AREC 304 only.
    • Intermediate Microeconomics is a pre-req for future ABEM & EWRE core courses, if you are planning to graduate in Spring 2021, Summer 2021 or Fall 2021 and need this course, please schedule an appointment with me so we can review course planning.
