ELECTION RESULTS

Thanks to everyone who voted in the election! We're happy to announce that Morgan G will be Internal Coordinator, Morgan M will be Communications Coordinator and Brian M will be treasurer. Super grateful to you three for your leadership! Also, we're still looking to fill a few non elected roles (essential for the functioning of the organization and support of our leadership). If you haven't yet had a chance then please take a look at these roles and email us to let us know which one you'd like to fill (we can have multiple people for each one). We'll be announcing who is in each of these positions soon!

100K RECRUITMENT DRIVE

DSA's 100K Recruitment Drive began on October 1st, and we are happy to report that 2,523 members have joined our mass organization since then. Our Miami Chapter has added 4 new members so far, bringing us 16.7% of the way to our Chapter recruitment goal of about 25 new members. I believe that we will not only reach our goal, but surpass it. In order to do this however, we need YOU to sign the 100k pledge and generate your unique referral link to pass on to at least 3 of your friends, family, & coworkers.

The first 500 members to reach the pledge goal of 3 new members get a custom DSA hat, and the top recruiter in the Chapter will get a special prize selected by the Coordinating Committee!

It is crucial that every single one of our members sign the pledge and actively try to recruit at least 3 people in their network so we can increase our organizational capacity moving forward as we continue to build power in Miami-Dade County. Also be sure to invite all those who you speak to about joining DSA to our new membership orientation which will take place on Sunday, October 18th at 1pm so we can formally introduce them to the chapter and the work we are doing.

USPS BRAINSTORMING SESSION

Do you want to save the USPS? Then join us for an action brainstorming session on Tuesday, October 13th @ 7:30pm. In this meeting we will make plans for direct action around the USPS with our fellow South Florida chapters. W
e'll need help with graphic design, organizing safe events, leafleting at local post offices, and direct action demanding that Louis DeJoy be fired. Help us make sure this action is effective as possible!

GREEN NEW DEAL BRAINSTORMING SESSION

Are you interested in the Green New Deal being our next chapter campaign? Then join us for a proposal brainstorming session on Tuesday, October 20th at 7pm. In this meeting we will discuss our chapter's capacity, tactics, and goals if we were to take on a Green New Deal campaign. We will be presenting the Campaign Proposal at the December Monthly Member Meeting.
