Virtual Multicultural Wellness Fair

In our 8th Year we go Virtual! This year more than ever, mental health supports are needed. The unique times we are facing have brought with them new challenges and made more evident the importance of having reliable resources to maintain and improve our mental health. It has been proven how much the diverse communities experience more layers of challenges to access resources, and 2020 is not the exception.

The MWF is a multi-agency partnering initiative that aims to reach out to culturally diverse populations in Hamilton to provide education about mental health and community resources. This event honours World Mental Health Day and creates awareness about Hamilton services to multicultural communities, including newcomer immigrants and refugees.

The event will feature a line-up of incredible speakers, and entertaining performances, as well as a chance to win one of many prizes and giveaways. This event is open to everyone. Share this event with your clients, or friends, and neighbors.

Tune in on Facebook Live: MWF2020 will be held on October 10, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm - Facebook Event Page.

Stay safe and join the event on Facebook Live.

Just Recovery Ontario
HIPC would like to introduce the Just Recovery Ontario campaign. This campaign came about when a number of community organizations from across Ontario got together and shared their concerns regarding how many equity-seeking groups have been particularly affected by COVID 19.

In Hamilton, the campaign has been spearheaded by the Hamilton Community Legal Clinic. The campaign invites individuals, groups and organizations to join the call for a just recovery for all through the five pillars below:

  • Create adequate and accessible income supports
  • Ensure decent work with fair pay, benefits & protections in safe workplaces
  • Expand and preserve safe, adequate and affordable housing
  • Invest in access to basic services like child care, transportation, digital access and eldercare
  • Establish tax policies that make sure people with the highest incomes pay their fair share

To learn more please visit the campaign's website.
