Help Catholic Charities West Michigan Decide on a Patron Saint!
We are inviting parishes in our diocese, along with our Catholic Charities West Michigan staff, to help us choose a patron saint for the agency. The staff of CCWM studied Catholic social teachings through various saints whose lives exemplified care for the poor and marginalized.

Promote Civility. Love Our Neighbors. Build Community.
As the level of civility and respect for others with differing opinions has diminished with each passing political campaign season, Michigan Catholic Conference (MCC) has undertaken an advertising effort encouraging Catholics and residents of the state to pledge civility, clarity, and compassion when discussing and debating candidates and politics. To learn more about promoting the nonpartisan Civilize It effort, please watch this one-minute television commercial featuring a diverse range of individuals who are taking the pledge. Walking With Moms In Need
Walking with Moms in Need is a year of service where Catholic parishes and communities "walk in the shoes" of local pregnant and parenting women in need. Everyone should know how to help moms in difficult circumstances. While not trying to turn Catholic parishes into pregnancy centers, we can support local pregnancy centers where they exist, and we can also find and share other resources with pregnant and parenting women. And where there are few local resources, we can create our own, based on the gifts of the parish community!
We hope you and your parish will join us in this Year of Service. For further resources on this initiative and additional Respect Life Month here in our diocese, visit here.
