Methodist Service Sheets - 11th Oct

Each week the Methodist Church has been producing a Service Sheet for people to use at their own pace, in their own homes and at their own time. These also make an excellent resource for a form of midweek worship.

Regular and LARGE PRINT VERSION available.

The Vine At Home - 11th Oct

Available in PDF or DOCX versions.
This week's Vine at Home reflection is written for us by Stephen Santry, Superintendent of Exeter Coast and Country circuit. He encourages us to picture ourselves in the gospel reading and reflect on which of the main characters we are most like.
Don't forget that The Vine at Home is live-streamed every Sunday Morning at 10.30am on Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth and Lympstone Methodist Churches Facebook page. It is then posted later in the day onto to The Worship Cloud Facebook page.

Traidcraft

Many Churches in this Circuit are keen to support the Fair Trade work of Traidcraft. If you haven't seen it already, do read their October Newsletter.

Riding Lights Theatre Company

Helen Clarke of Riding Lights Theatre Company writes: "Riding Lights is producing our acclaimed children’s show The Selfish Giant on film. Presented in three 15 minute episodes, The Selfish Giant on film can be used for a watch-along party with children’s groups, holiday clubs, primary schools or youth organisations tied to churches safely at home. As we look to an unusual Christmas after an extremely lonely and disorientating year for children, this film is a fantastic treat to give to the primary aged children and their families in the lead-up to Christmas."

More information and how to order the film can be found on their website.

ACN: Aid to the Church in Need

While it may be too early to talk about Christmas (!) many folk like to starting buying Christmas Cards and Gifts. This year, why not consider the ACN Shop for your books, cards, CDs and other gifts? Your purchases will allow ACN to support the suffering Church around the world.

Chaplains At Work Newsletter

Please find here the Autumn newsletter from the Churches and Industry Group Birmingham and Solihull (CIGB).  As always it’s full of good things, with a great mix of articles, stories and news.

Bible Society

"The Widow's Last" Film Poster
Bible Society has recently recommended this video "The Widow's Last" - a 20 minute short from Reel Issues Films. Set in Ireland, during the third year of The Great Hunger, it tells the story of a hardened widow who fights to keep her young son alive during one of the darkest times in human history. Inspired by the story of Elijah and the widow in 1 Kings 17, it’s a profound story of forgiveness, sacrifice and redemption. Watch the film and spread the word.

Birmingham District Safeguarding 'Online Safety' Seminar

Over recent months we've become more aware than ever of the opportunities and challenges of connecting online. The Birmingham District Safeguarding Group, in collaboration with the Learning Network West Midlands, invite you to join us for a Zoom Seminar on Online Safety led by independent e-safety expert, Karl Hopwood.

To enable as many people as possible to benefit from this session, we will be running it twice. The two options are  Thursday 26th November 19:00-21:00  or Thursday 3rd December 9:30-11:30.  The session on the 3rd December will cover the same material as the one on the 26th November, so please book in for one session only.

Please download the full details.
